Gorloks headed to fourth straight NCAA appearance
(St. Louis, Mo.) - The Webster Gorloks baseball squad will be headed to its fourth straight NCAA Regional appearance after receiving the SLIAC automatic qualifier berth on Saturday evening. The Gorloks (28-13) will be the sixth seed in the Central Region and will take on the top seeded Illinois Wesleyan Titans (33-9) on Wednesday starting at 12 noon at Augustana College in Moline, Ill.

If WU wins its first round game it would play the loser of game 3 between Augustana and Wartburg at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. If it should lose its first game then it would play the loser of game two between Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Linfield (Ore.) at 12 noon on Thursday. The complete schedule is listed below.

Webster's game against Maryville in the SLIAC Tournament at Westminster on Saturday evening was canceled due to the heavy rains in the Fulton area with WU leading 4-0 heading into the top of the third inning. Since the rest of the tournament was unable to be finished the Gorloks received the conference's automatic berth for winning the regular season title.

The tournament will start on Wednesday May 14 and conclude on Sunday May 18. Times for Wednesday's games will be announced on Monday afternoon. Ticket prices for the regional are $5 per day for adults and $3 per day for students and senior citizens (60 years & older).

The winners of the eight regional tournaments will advance to the NCAA III Baseball Championships May 23-27 at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wisconsin.
