Men and Women's Soccer Earn NSCAA Team Academic Awards

Only 97 Colleges Nationwide With Both Teams Recognized

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) have recognized both the men and women's soccer programs at Webster University with Team Academic Awards for 2008-09.  The women's soccer team had a cumulative 3.51 grade point average (GPA), which was the 19th highest in the nation, while the men had a 3.06 GPA.

Webster University was one of only 97 colleges nationally that had both its men and women's teams so recognized.  Webster University was one of two St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference members,  Principia College (IL) the other, to receive this distinction.

The NSCAA awards include soccer teams from all colleges, at all levels of play (NCAA I, II, III, and NAIA).  A total of 568 teams (141 men, 327 women) earned the NSCAA award.  Teams must have maintained a cumulative 3.0 grade point average for all players on their rosters, for the full academic year, to qualify.
