Men's Golf Finishes Strong in Big Blue Spring Classic

The Webster University men's golf team made significant strides at the Big Blue Spring Classic in Decatur, IL, on April 9-10.  Webster's team score of 636 placed the Gorloks ninth out of 17 teams, shaved 30 strokes off its score from its past two tournaments, and was its lowest two-round score for the 2009-10 season.

The Gorloks shot a round one score of 320 and came back in round two with a 316.  Kyler Scott (SO, Culver Academy, IN) paced Webster with a 73-79-152, that was good enough for a 15th place tie in a field of 92 golfers.  Dan Klipsch (FR, Joliet Catholic HS, IL) was one stroke back of Scott, at 78-75-153, which tied him for 19th in the field.

The golf team is in action next at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference 'Preview' on April 19 at the Timberlakes Golf Club in Staunton, IL.
