Breaking out after a slow start at the IC Snowbird last week, the Webster University men’s and women’s track teams kicked into gear in a number of events at the Principia Indoor Relays on January 27, in Elsah, IL.  Leading the charge was Jenny Howard (FR, Duchesne HS) who had a solid debut for the women’s squad, finishing second and third in her two events.

Howard’s performance highlighted the women’s results.  She finished second in a field of 20 runners in the 60M dash, running it in 8.13 seconds, :07 off the pace.  Howard followed that run up with a time of 47:16 in the 300M dash, good for third place in a field of 15.  Jennifer Scanlon (FR, Parkway South HS) finished the race in 50.97, good for seventh place.
 
Eroica Stackhouse (SO, Tipton HS, IN) took third place in the one-mile run, finishing in 6:00.44 and in third place.  Jordan Vehlewald (FR, Lafayette HS) wound up eighth in the 500M dash, running it in 1:36.74.  Scanlon finished in fourth, just over a second behind at 1:38.31.

On the men’s side, Aaron Oberneufemann (JR, Mt. Olive HS, IL) took second in a field of 16 runners in the 300M dash, with a time of 37.45.  Zach Zurfluh-Cunningham (FR, Windsor HS) had a 10^th place finish out of 40 runners in the 60M dash, finishing in 7.54.  In the 3000M run, Jason Hickson (FR, Hillsboro HS, MO) finished fourth in 9:50.12.

Complete results are listed below.  The teams will be back in Jacksonville, IL, on February 4, for the Jim Green Invitational at Illinois College.
