Niel DeVasto has been named Sports Information Director at Webster University. He will be the first full-time dedicated SID in the program's 25-year history. DeVasto played a key role in creating athletics at Webster, first submitting the original proposal for the program in 1984 and serving as AD from 1984-88. During his term as AD, DeVasto oversaw the admission of the Gorloks into the NCAA.

Logan Johnson has been named Head Assistant/Pitching Coach for the Webster University Baseball team. The 2010 season will be Johnson's second on the Gorlok coaching staff.

Ninety three student-athletes have been named to the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) All-Academic Team. The recipients were varsity members of their school's baseball, men's golf, softball, men's tennis, or women's tennis squads for the Spring 2009 season. Other selection criteria include: (1) Minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average, (2) At least sophomore academic standing and (3) Have at least one full year at current institution (first year transfers and true freshmen are not eligible).

Webster University’s Andrew Fuiten and Joe Biagini have been named to the 2009 ABCA/Rawlings – All-Central Region First Team.  Craig Shaefer has also been named to the Third Team.

The 2009 Gorlok Open, sponsored by the Paric Corporation, was held on Monday, May 18, 2009 at Sunset Country Club.  The thirty-four teams and 136 golfers taking part in the event were greeted by a beautiful spring day perfect for golfing.  All proceeds from the Gorlok Open directly benefit the Webster University Athletic Department.

Webster University's Andrew Fuiten has been named to the Honorable Mention All-America team by D3Baseball.com as well as National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Central Region Hitter of the Year for his outstanding 2009 season.
