First Time Men and Women's Player Honored Same Week

Tomoya Homma (SR, Kumon Leysin, Japan) and Mandy Tabakin (SO, First Colonial HS, VA) were named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's and women's tennis players of the week for March 1.  This is the first time in Gorlok history that players from both teams were so honored in the same week.

The SLIAC release was as follows:

MEN'S TENNIS
Webster University's Tomoya Homma, a senior from Honcho, Japan (Kumon Leysin), has been named the SLIAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 1-7.

Homma helped the Gorloks record a 6-3 victory versus Illinois College by winning in both singles and doubles play. He posted a 6-0, 6-7 (10-7) win at #5 singles and then partnered with teammate Ryan Fassler for a 9-8 (10-7) victory at #3 doubles.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
Webster University's Mindy Tabakin, a sophomore from Virginia Beach, Va. (First Colonial), has been named the SLIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 1-7.

Tabakin went 1-0 in both singles and doubles play last week. She recorded a 6-0, 6-0 victory at #2 singles versus Stephens College, while also posting an 8-6 victory at #2 doubles, as the Gorloks lost the match 5-4
