Golf Finishes SLIAC Tourney 3rd, Meeh and Scott All-Conference

The Webster University men's golf team had standout performances by Robby Meeh (JR, Lindbergh HS, STL) and Kyler Scott (SO, Culver Academy, IN), and finished in third place in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament.  Meeh and Scott both shot a 238, which earned them All-Conference honors in the three-round event, that took place at Timber Lakes Golf Club on April 26-27.

The Gorloks had a tough time overcoming rainy and windy conditions on the familiar course as a team, but Meeh's and Scott's scores tied them for fifth place in the tournament and garnered them SLIAC First Team, All-Conference honors.  Meeh shot a 72, his lowest round in his career as a Gorlok, that tied him for the lead after one.  Scott started slow with an 83 in the first, but shot 79-76 for the final two rounds to pull into the tie with Meeh.

Dakota Street (FR, Eldorado HS, IL) shot a consistent 84-83-84-251, to finish tied for 14th place and Dan Greiner (SO, Meramec CC) and Dan Klipsch (FR, Joliet Catholic HS, IL) were also tied at 257, good enough for 18th place in the tournament.

The Gorloks got off to a slow start, shooting a 323 in the first round, seventeen strokes off the 306 they shot at the same venue one week earlier.  Eventual champion Blackburn College (IL) set the pace in the first round with a 306.  A 17 stroke deficit didn't seem insurmountable with two rounds to play but a 329 in the second round left the Gorloks in third place.  After shooting a 326 in the third round, Webster finished in third place in the Conference.
