Mike Siener Named SLIAC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year

Webster University women's tennis coach has been voted as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Coach of the Year for 2010.  This is the second straight year Siener has been selected by his coaching peers for the honor.  The women's tennis team won the SLIAC Tournament for the first time in team history, and will be playing in its first NCAA III Tournament.

Siener, who also coaches the men's squad, has a 41-16 record in his five seasons at the helm of the women's program.  He has the most wins and the highest winning percentage of any women's tennis coach.  Siener took over the women's and men's programs in 2006.  The men's team also completed its most successful season in 2010, finishing 12-4 and reaching the Conference championship.  The 12 wins were four more than the next highest total in a season (8) in the team's history.

A graduate of Webster, Siener has completed a bachelor's and master's degree at the University.  As a student, he played soccer, basketball, and tennis at Webster.   He has been an assistant coach with the men's basketball team for the past 10 seasons,
