Stevenson, Dittmann, Lokey, SLIAC Players of the Week

Dittmann's Second Selection in 2010

Webster University student-athletes Cody Stevenson, Sam Dittmann, and Meghan Lokey have been selected as St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week for April 26-May 2. With these three, thirty-four weekly performances, by 24 different Gorlok athletes, have been recognized by the SLIAC during the 2009-10 year.

Stevenson, a freshman outfielder from Centralia, IL (Centralia HS), has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Hitter of the Week. Stevenson posted a .522 batting average in seven games last week. He was 12-for-23 at the plate, with 12 runs scored, six RBIs, four doubles and one triple. Stevenson also was six for six in stolen base attempts.

Stevenson had five multi-hit games last week, including a three for three performance with one double and three stolen bases in Webster's 5-2 victory over Westminster College. The Gorloks went 6-1 last week, clinching their fourth consecutive SLIAC regular season title. Webster is 21-2 in the SLIAC, 30-8 overall.

Dittmann, a senior first baseman from Festus, MO (St. Pius X)., has been named the SLIAC Softball Hitter of the Week. It marks the second time this season she has earned the honor. Dittmann went five for six at the plate for a .833 batting average in two games. She scored three runs and had two doubles, a home run, and five RBIs, as the Gorloks swept Spalding University (KY) 7-6 and 10-0.

In game one of the double-header, Dittmann was two for two with two runs scored, a double, home run and five RBIs. She hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the third inning to key a five-run rally that put Webster up 7-1. Dittmann went three for four, with a run and a double, in game two.

Lokey, a sophomore pitcher from Hazelwood, MO (Hazelwood West HS), has been named the SLIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week. Lokey went 1-0 and had a save in two appearances on the mound last week. In 6.1 innings of work she struck out seven batters, allowing two hits and one walk. In game one of the double-header with Spalding, Lokey took the mound in the seventh, with two outs and runners on first and second. The Gorloks held a 7-6 lead, and Lokey struck out the only batter she faced to preserve the win. She started game two and pitched a complete game shutout.
