Bryan Stanley, a senior from Larkin, IL, has been named the Diamond Sports SLIAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 5-11. This is the second time this season Stanley has earned the honor.
Stanley, a right-hander, posted a 3-1 record in four relief appearances last week. In 8.3 innings on the mound he recorded a 2.16 ERA and 10 strikeouts, while allowing three hits, four walks and two earned runs.
In a 7-6 victory against Fontbonne University, Stanley struck out five batters and gave up no hits and no walks in 2.3 innings, and worked out of an inherited bases-loaded jam. He also recorded victories after pitching 1.3 innings in 3-2 and 5-2 wins on both ends of a double-header versus Spalding University (KY). In those two games he allowed no hits, one walk and had three strikeouts total. Once again, in the 3-2 win, he worked out of an inherited bases-loaded jam.
Stanley is 6-2 for the season, and has a cumulative 2.84 earned run average in 13 appearances, striking out 25 in 25.3 innings pitched.
