Webster Heads Up River for NCAA Regional

The Webster University men's baseball team will be playing in the NCAA III Central Regional at Rock Island, IL, on May 19, vs. Ripon College (WI).  Webster landed a spot in the 55-team field by winning the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship.  The Gorloks will be making their fifth trip to the NCAA Tournament in the past six years.

Webster (33-9) will enter the Central Regional as the #4 seed.  The Regional is a double-elimination format and runs through Saturday, May 22.  Ripon College (24-15) is currently riding a 13-game win streak and landed a berth by winning the Midwest Conference Tournament.  The Red Hawks finished 5th in the Central Region rankings, just ahead of the 6th-ranked Gorloks.  Webster is ranked 29th nationally in the most recent ABCA rankings.

Games will be played at Swanson Stadium in Moline, IL, one of the Quad Cities on the Iowa/Illinois border on the Mississippi River.   The winner will advance to the NCAA III World Series at Appleton, WI, on May 28-June 1.  Admission to games is $5 for adults/$3 for students with I.D.  The seedings and schedule are below:
