Savage Named to Seventh District Second Team

Savage Voted CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District

Webster University senior baseball pitcher Will Savage (Benet Academy, IL) was voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN 2010 Academic All-District Men's Baseball Team.  

Savage was named to the College Division, Seventh District Second Team. The College Division includes members of the NCAA II, NCAA III, NAIA, and community colleges. Nominees are judged on academic prowess, while also weighing accomplishments in their respective sport. 

He is having an outstanding year on the field, leading the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 1.95 ERA ,and a 7-0 record on the season.  In addition. Savage was chosen as the SLIAC Pitcher of the Week for April 19-25 and has been a key contributor to the Gorloks first place finish in the SLIAC.  Webster has a 30-8 record and are currently ranked 29th nationally in the NCAA III. 

The CoSIDA Seventh District includes nine states in the upper Midwest and West, and two Canadian provinces. Savage was one of only two baseball players from St. Louis region colleges/universities for the University or College division teams in the seventh district for 2010.
